Getting Started

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to get started in under 3 minutes.

Install JG TubeAssist from Chrome Web Store

Visit the Chrome Web Store page and click Add to Chrome. The extension icon (🤖) will appear in your browser toolbar after installation.

Get a Free Groq API Key

Go to console.groq.com and sign up for a free account. Navigate to API Keys → click Create API Key → copy the generated key. Groq provides 1,000 free requests per day — no credit card required.

Enter Your API Key in the Extension

Click the 🤖 extension icon in your Chrome toolbar → open the ⚙ Settings tab → paste your Groq API key into the field → click Save. The key is stored only in your local browser storage and is never sent to our servers.

Go to YouTube Studio → Comments

Navigate to studio.youtube.com → click Comments in the left sidebar. The 🤖 AI button will appear in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Analyze & Reply

Click the 🤖 button → click Analyze Comments. Each comment will be automatically tagged. Click Reply Draft on any comment to generate an AI reply. Use the filter tabs (All / Positive / Negative / Question / Spam / Neutral) to sort comments by type.

API Key Setup

Groq API Key — Detailed Guide

🌐 Step 1 — Create a Groq Account

Visit console.groq.com → click Sign Up → complete registration with Google or email. No credit card is required.

🔑 Step 2 — Generate Your API Key

After logging in, click API Keys in the left menu → click Create API Key → enter a name (e.g. "TubeAssist") → copy the key immediately.
Important: The key is only shown once. Copy it before closing the dialog.

📋 Step 3 — Paste into Extension

Click the 🤖 extension icon → open ⚙ Settings tab → paste the key into the Groq API Key input field → click Save.

ℹ️ About the Free Tier

Groq provides 1,000 API requests free per day. A typical comment analysis session uses 1 request. The AI usage meter is visible in the extension popup (Settings tab → API Usage). The daily limit resets at midnight UTC.

💳 Groq API vs. Pro Subscription

The Groq API is a completely separate service from the JG TubeAssist Pro subscription. Groq is always free (up to 1,000 req/day). Pro ($12.90/mo) unlocks this extension for unlimited use after the 7-day trial — it does not affect or pay for Groq API usage.

Activating Your Pro License

🛒 Purchase Pro

Visit the Pro checkout page (powered by Lemon Squeezy). Complete payment — you will receive a license key by email within seconds.

🔓 Activate the License Key

Open the extension popup → in the license key input field, paste your key → click Activate. The status badge will change to ✅ Pro Active immediately.

💻 Multiple Devices (up to 3)

A single Pro license can be activated on up to 3 devices. To move to a new device, open the extension popup on the old device → click Deactivate Pro, then activate on the new device.

📧 Didn't Receive Your License Key?

Check your spam/junk folder for an email from Lemon Squeezy. If still not received after 10 minutes, contact us at neteacher78@naver.com with your purchase receipt.

🔄 Manage / Cancel Subscription

Log in to your Lemon Squeezy customer portal to manage billing, update payment info, or cancel your subscription. The link is included in your purchase confirmation email.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues & Solutions

❓ The 🤖 button doesn't appear in YouTube Studio

Make sure you are on the Comments page specifically: studio.youtube.com → Comments
The button does NOT appear on the Dashboard, Videos, or Analytics pages
Refresh the page after navigating to Comments
Try disabling and re-enabling the extension in chrome://extensions

⚠️ "Groq API key not set" error

Open the extension popup → ⚙ Settings tab → enter your Groq API key → click Save
If you don't have an API key, get one free at console.groq.com
Make sure the key starts with gsk_

⚠️ "API key is invalid" error

Log into console.groq.com and verify the key is still active
Generate a new API key if the existing one was deleted or expired
Make sure there are no extra spaces when pasting — clear the field and paste again

⚠️ "Daily limit reached" error

You have used all 1,000 free Groq API requests for today. The limit resets at midnight UTC. You can also generate a second free API key on a different Groq account to continue immediately.

⏰ "Trial expired" message

Your 7-day free trial has ended. To continue using AI features, upgrade to Pro ($12.90/mo) from the extension popup or the checkout page.

🔑 License key activation fails

Make sure you are pasting the exact key from the Lemon Squeezy email (no spaces before/after)
If you have already activated on 3 devices, deactivate one first
If the issue persists, contact us at neteacher78@naver.com

🔄 Extension not working after Chrome update

Go to chrome://extensions → find JG TubeAssist → toggle off then on
If the issue persists, remove the extension and re-install from the Chrome Web Store
Your API key and settings will need to be re-entered after reinstalling

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does JG TubeAssist store or read my YouTube login credentials?

No. The extension only reads comment text visible on the YouTube Studio Comments page — the same text you can see on screen. It does not access your account credentials, private data, video analytics, or any other YouTube data.

Where is my Groq API key stored?

Your Groq API key is stored exclusively in Chrome's local storage on your device (chrome.storage.local). It is never transmitted to our servers. It is only sent to Groq's API endpoint directly from your browser when you run a comment analysis.

Which permissions does the extension require and why?

The extension requests three permissions:

• storage — to save your API key and license key locally on your device
• studio.youtube.com — to inject the AI panel on YouTube Studio's Comments page
• api.groq.com — to send comment text to Groq's API for AI classification

No other permissions are requested.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription at any time?

Yes. You can cancel at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal (link in your purchase confirmation email). After cancellation, Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.

Is there a refund policy?

We offer a 7-day refund window from the date of purchase. Contact us at neteacher78@naver.com with your order number and reason for the refund request.

Does TubeAssist work in languages other than English?

The extension UI automatically switches between Korean and English based on your Chrome browser language. Comment analysis via Groq/Llama 4 supports multilingual comments — the AI can classify comments written in most languages.
